Students work closely with our director, Shauna Reisewitz, to build an Individualized Educational Plan around their own strengths and interests — not a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
Are you an artist, musician, athlete, cook, or entrepreneur? Earn credits pursuing your natural interests. And find interesting ways to earn standard high school credits — through documentaries, projects, and online courses. The world is your oyster!
Some students graduate within a month; others take several years. There's room to work around health needs, jobs, sports, or a different rhythm entirely.
Students work one-on-one with a California-credentialed teacher who has worked with high schoolers since 1991, developing a unique, individualized program around each student.
To graduate, students complete an online portfolio or presentation celebrating their strengths — plus a resume they can actually use for what's next.
Every student's coursework is built to meet California's graduation requirements. Grading is based on mastery of subject matter, and AP credits are awarded to students who pass AP exams. Honors credit is occasionally awarded for exceptional work.
Our graduates have been accepted to Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Liberty University, Durham University, Quinnipiac, San Francisco State University, Wheaton, Seattle Pacific University, University of Aberdeen, Cal Lutheran, Academy of Art University, American University of Paris, Hampshire College, Weimar University, Make-Up Designory (Burbank), Universal Technical Institute, Orange Coast College, Foothill College, College of Marin, Cabrillo College, Victor Valley College, Schoolcraft College (Michigan), Allan Hancock College, and many more. Others have gone on to serve in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force.
